As the title suggests, he’s interested in surface and texture. An image of a praying mantis shows the beautiful grain of the wood plank it’s resting on; a shot of a stadium in Dortmund after a concert is strewn with rubbish and melancholically grey; an immense vista taken in Montana hints at the enormous expanses of landscape…’
